Charlie Barrett

Licensed Master of Social Work

Charlie Barrett is a Futures Coach at Causeway Collaborative. Charlie is originally from Chicago, Illinois where he graduated suma cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Northeastern Illinois University. He later received his Master’s in Social Work from the University of Connecticut.

Charlie’s passion for service began during his six years in the United States Air Force. During his time in the USAF, Charlie was awarded the Air Force Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal among several others. Charlie received an honorable discharge as a Staff Sergeant in 2006 where he shortly thereafter began his career in Social Work. Early in his career, Charlie focused on assisting a diverse set of vulnerable populations to include seniors, young disabled adults and dual diagnosis clients. Charlie is a strong advocate for his clients and is dedicated to helping others. In December of 2017, Charlie was recognized by the Connecticut General Assembly for his advocacy work on behalf of low-income seniors.

Charlie’s approach is mindful, strengths-based and meets young men where they are at to foster and facilitate change. In his free time, Charlie enjoys running and is an avid tennis player. He enjoys travel and spending time with his wife and daughter.
