Parent Coaching

Eye-opening learning to pave a clear way forward.

Is your family experiencing disconnect? Causeway engages the whole family to bring you and your son back into conversation—because communication is key to his progress.

Sometimes therapy that involves the whole family just isn’t possible. Resistance to the process may keep some family members from engaging. Where this is the case, Causeway offers short, solution-focused sessions for parents called Parent Coaching.

One thing at a time

  • Session 1: Initial assessment and identification of goals
  • Session 2: Communication patterns and modification
  • Session 3: Parental alignment
  • Session 4: Strategies in developing and implementing boundaries

In each session, the Causeway team uses basic principles of human behavior to support you in your approach to personal and family goals. Each session we focus on a single issue that you identify. Your Causeway coach works with you to get a sense of the problem and develop a solution process.

Your coach will lay out approach options for you.  He can also help broker a compromise that works for all parties—provided there is a true will to achieve a positive outcome.  He’ll guide you to identify and reflect on how you communicate as a family and point out where you could make beneficial changes. This often involves a re-think—an invitation to “realign” your position on the issue, and to reset your expectations for outcome. You may need to get clear on the boundaries in the home, and your coach will assist with that, as well.

The strategy is always focused on supporting your son in achieving his goals.

Testimonials

“I was nothing but impressed by the quality of the service CC provided my son and our family. David worked so well with my son and was able to reach him at his level and then was so helpful in giving me tips and incites into things I could do to help my son as well. I have nothing but great things to say about CC and David.”

“The entire team at Causeway is nothing short of incredible. I am now in a place where I never envisioned myself at. The guys are the most profesional, and caring individuals I have ever met. I cannot put into exact words how happy I am to have worked with them.”

“We had such a positive experience with CC. Every step of our son’s process of evolving was communicated well to us and let us be a part of the process without taking away from him feeling completely independent of our involvement. He is more confident, focussed and engaged from his time working with David and Paul. The relationships that we all formed because of their work together has brought us all to a greater level of understanding and communicating with our son. Priceless.”

You've got Questions, We've Got Answers

Q: What is Futures?
A: Futures is career and educational support. It focuses on meeting your son’s unique needs by supporting him as he pursues the goals and objectives he has identified for himself. The Causeway team helps your son clarify his broader plan, and then bolsters him in building the skills he needs to make that plan a reality.

Q: Can someone just do Futures as a stand-alone program?
A: Absolutely. If your son wants to focus solely on Futures, he will still need to complete the standard onboarding process with consult, intake, and feedback session(s). Then he can move forward with Futures. The only exception would be if the team identifies clinical concerns requiring therapy as part of a plan to ensure safe and effective care.

Q: How much does a life coach cost?

A: The cost of life coaching is customized based on a young man’s goals and the time needed to achieve them.

Q: Are there life coaches for young adults?

A: Yes. We provide tailored coaching services to help young adults set goals, achieve those goals, and gain confidence.

Q: Is a life coach covered by insurance?

A: Insurance usually does not cover life coaching, but we work with families to find workable solutions.
