One thing at a time
In each session, the Causeway team uses basic principles of human behavior to support you in your approach to personal and family goals. Each session we focus on a single issue that you identify. Your Causeway coach works with you to get a sense of the problem and develop a solution process.
Your coach will lay out approach options for you. He can also help broker a compromise that works for all parties—provided there is a true will to achieve a positive outcome. He’ll guide you to identify and reflect on how you communicate as a family and point out where you could make beneficial changes. This often involves a re-think—an invitation to “realign” your position on the issue, and to reset your expectations for outcome. You may need to get clear on the boundaries in the home, and your coach will assist with that, as well.
The strategy is always focused on supporting your son in achieving his goals.

Your role as a parent in your son’s care is to provide him with emotional support and assist him with navigating boundaries in your home environment. You finance his treatment process. Be prepared–you’ll be expected to work on your relationship with him, both at Causeway and at home. You’ll also participate in regular monthly meetings throughout the length of his care. You may seek additional coaching support as needed on specific issues that come up in the home during your son’s work at Causeway.
