Feeling Disconnected?

When a young man sets out to become his best self, he needs his family not just behind him, but beside him.

Conflict and communication issues within the family throw up barriers to a young man’s progress. Causeway requires both client and family to be all in on this journey, especially when you live together in one home. This is one of the most effective ways to ensure your son’s growth, development, and success in achieving his goals.

Why Participate in Family Therapy at Causeway?

Engaging Your Family

Your son’s well being is a family affair. Our Causeway Family Therapists want to know, understand, and engage the entire family.

Our team will work with you to bring family conflicts to light. Left unaddressed, these challenges can generate resentment and confusion. Part of this is making sure that you as parents hear your son’s needs and wants. Our experienced therapists will guide you as a group in establishing ground rules, working through past issues, and providing the clarity that is needed to reach resolution.

As we move through this consistent, open-ended process of discovery together, you’ll improve the quality of family communication, build positive family dynamics, and reduce the grievances you have with one another.

The Causeway Difference

Your son’s well being is dependent on your involvement and feedback. We use your input to develop goals and modify your young man’s program, so it serves him more effectively. We can’t say it enough: at Causeway, we work for your son, and the well-being of your family.

The Causeway team is not a group of clinicians hiding behind a veil of confidentiality. We specialize in behavioral health for young adults. We’ll keep you as parents up to speed on what’s happening with your son—and so will your son, because we’ll all be together in one room. At Causeway, parents stay informed. At the same time, we cultivate your son’s ability to hold court—to find his voice. To communicate his needs to both you and the team.

Testimonials

“I chose Causeway originally based on the model and the variety of services offered as they matched well with the needs of my son. Now several months into the program, the progress my son has made and continues to make validates that this program and these guys are worth it.”

“Causeway Collaborative helped me in a way that a lot of other therapy programs failed to do or fell short of succeeding in. I was not only able to receive the therapy I needed but to tie in the mentoring and planning services to help me get back on my feet in a practical sense. It was an experience that I would recommend in a heartbeat to anyone that I knew was struggling in life and looking for a different recovery approach than just therapy.”

“Before finding causeway I was frustrated and lost. I am so thrilled to have their insight, perspective and direction. THANK YOU!!”

You've got Questions, We've Got Answers.

Q: Do we have to participate in family therapy as part of the program here at Causeway?
A:

Family therapy is an integral part of your son’s journey. What this looks like will vary based on your needs as parents and your son’s needs. Typically, we ask that parents engage with one of our family therapists twice during the first 4 weeks of your son’s program to ensure we are all on the same page. At this point, you and your family therapist will determine if more sessions are needed and at what frequency.

Q: How are Family Meetings different from Family Therapy?
A:

Family Therapy uses family systems theory to apply the principles of human behavior to assist you and your son in in coming together to achieve a variety of personal and family-centered goals. At Causeway a single licensed, trained professional facilitates Family Therapy on a regularly occurring basis. The frequency of visits is determined by the expertise of the professional.

Family Meetings, on the other hand, are unique to Causeway. They are a required part of our process for all clients. We hold Family Meetings on a once-per-month basis to review your son’s program, evaluate goals and objectives, modify session frequency and service types, and get consensus on the go-forward plan for your son’s treatment.
